Support needed to physically disabled for gardening

The government promised to provide extra lands with better infrastructure facility to train the physically disabled people for gardening.

To empower the physically disabled people the Directorate of Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizen department promised to provide its support to Association of People with Disability (APD) in training physically disabled people in gardening.

Ganesh Hedge, Director of Environment Horticulture APD said that the Directorate of Empowerment of Differently Abled department promised to provide them extra lands,  better infrastructure facility to train the physically disabled people.

Renuka, coordinator in the Directorate of Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizen department said that they will also provide  water and electricity facilities.

Mr Hedge said, to encourage physically disabled people, the plants grown during their training period are kept in the APD garden fair. The revenue collected through the sale of these saplings is used to support the physically disabled people

Narayana Swamy founder of Dheenoddhara Trust for the Disabled said, “This will help the physically disabled people to lead an independent life.” He added that the government should take more steps to improve the status of the disabled people.
