Bengaluru’s Sikh community celebrates Guru Nanak Jayanti.

The Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara, on Friday, celebrated the 549th birthday of Guru Nanak. The celebrations started at around 3.30 in the morning and the gurudwara will remain open till midnight today. The day started with a morning ‘ardaas’ and the ragis reciting the ‘kirtans.’ The gurudwara had also organized for ‘langars.’
A large number of Sikh devotees came to celebrate the anniversary of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. People came from the whole of the city offering their prayers and respects and also indulging in ‘Sewa.’
Kartar Singh, one of the devotees, said “Every Sunday I come to this gurudwara and help the gurudwara community. The crowd today is much more than that that can be seen on a regular basis.”
