High Court has postponed the hearing of malnutrition case once again on Wednesday. The next hearing date will be updated soon on the Karnataka High Court website.

No reason has been given for postponing the hearing of the case. Vinod, the advocate of B.L. Patil who filed the case in 2011 told the Softcopy, “The case was called off and I learnt about this from the Karnataka government website.”

The court said on November 18 that it will initiate a contempt case if the compliance report by the Karnataka governmnet is not submitted before November 20.

The Suo motu PIL was filled in 2011 by B L Patil. On 12th April 2012 a nine member committee was formed under Justice N.K. Patil and on 3 august 2013, the committee placed it report, with 100 recommendations out of which 87 were accepted by government.

On September 16, 2019, the court gave the State government directions to file report by October 21. Later, on October 21 High Court directed the government to file an affidavit on the implementation of the committee recommendation during next hearing. The government had again sought time; the court revised the deadline to November 18. The court was to initiate a contempt case if the compliance report is not submitted before November 20.
