Hotels anticipate a distribution of over 11,000 free benne dosas for all voters.

Several outlets in Bangalore are giving out free dosas and discounts on their meals for all voters today. Huge crowds and long line can be seen in areas like Nrupathunga Road, Whitefield and Rajajinagar.

Virendra Kamat, the owner of Kamath Hosaruchi said that around 6,000 dosas, ladoos and juices have been distributed by 4 p.m. He said that the idea behind the free dosas is to showcase the importance of casting a vote and that only the people who cast a vote has gotten free dosas.

Krishnaraj, owner of Nisarga Grand said, “The outlet has been open since 6 am and we have seen a huge crowd until 11 a.m. We anticipate much more voters to get free dosas until 7 p.m.” He added that around 11,000 benne dosas will likely be given by the evening. Nisarga Grand has two sections, the Non- AC section gives out free dosas.

Karnataka High Court passed an order after hearing the petition filed by Bruhath Bangalore Hotels Association to provide free food to the voters.

Iyengar’s Oven Fresh, Whitefield is offering a discount of 10 percent on all pastries and bread to those who have voted. The manager said that this discount will go on until 7 pm.

Anand Kumar, Operations Manager from Malgudi Mylari Mane said that they are offering free dosas and filter coffee to all voters. He said that around 200 people have turned up since the morning.

Social bar and restaurant had put out an advertisement that they will provide a 20 percent discount on their meals along with a message encouraging people to vote. Voters who show their inked fingers will receive the benefit. However, a few outlets of Socials are shut down today and will open tomorrow.

Deck of Brews, a Resto- Pub in Bellandur is offering free mug of beers and discounts to voters on April 27 and 28.
