BJP serious about BTM Layout

Elections Karnataka

BTM Layout and other constituencies like Jayanagar will be one of the main focus areas for BJP in Bengaluru, ahead of the state election.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is keen to win a seat from the BTM Layout in this state election, they are likely to release a constituency wise manifesto which is going to look for specific issues in that area. Mohan Kumar L, secretary of BTM Layout from BJP explained that, “We will make sure that all the areas are treated equally in terms of solving the problems they are facing, we have a manifesto for BTM Layout and we aim to work on health, sports, infrastructure, education and other similar issues.”

Mohan was campaigning in Ejipura today.  He said, “We are conducting door to door campaigns in these areas to know where are we lagging behind and what are the problems faced by the public. Last time we lost the elections because we were late to release our candidates list, this time we are making sure we do not commit such petty mistakes.”

  • Two wheeler riders falls from the scooty due to bad condition of the road.
  • Residents blame congress for leaving the road dug up.
  • Ejipura flyover still remains incomplete, no work going on.
  • Road dug up a week before.
  • Newly built road on top of the existing road which was already in a good condition.

Mohan added that there will be a volunteer group from the BJP as well. It will go and meet every resident of BTM Layout and is going to ensure a good water supply in the area. “This is a volunteer group amidst the elections which is specially focusing on the issues that people might face be it water supply, issues with electricity cuts and conditions of roads,” he said.

Mohan said that our candidate Lallesh Reddy lost in the last elections with a small margin. Our present candidate, K.R. Sridhar is serious about winning in this constituency.

Amudha is living in Ejipura from past 40 years says that she voted to BJP in the last elections. “Some workers came to our area in February and started digging the road. They were from Congress. They said that they were installing drainage chamber. When the work was completed, they left the road dug up and said that the party who wins the upcoming election will finish the work after elections.”

Increased electricity prices and low water supply are the two major problems faced by the people living near BTM Lake. A resident of 19th Cross road near BTM Lake said, “We have to get an extra water tank every week. The water comes once in every two days and for only two hours.”

In 2018 assembly elections, Congress won with a margin of 20,478 voters. Ramalinga Reddy from Indian National Congress (INC) is the current Member of the Legislative Assembly from the BTM Layout. He is representing this constituency for 15 years. Recently he was in news for distributing pressure cookers to the residents of BTM layout.

Aishwarya Mahadev, Spokesperson of INC said, “Congress is deprived of funds and we are doing our best with the available funds. Distribution of pressure cookers was not to woo voters but was a gift from our side to the people on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.”
