Government and Political parties ignore RJS

“If the political parties are ignoring us then we will also ignore them in the upcoming elections,” says Reddy community.

Reddy Jana Sangha announces ‘Pada Yatra’ from Bidar to Mulbagilu if their demands are not considered by the government. M. C. Prabhakar Reddy, Principal Secretary of Reddy Jana Sangha, stated during the press conference that the Reddy community does not receive any benefits from any district, including student hostels, unions, or subsidies.  

“There are millions of Reddy communities living in Karnataka, stated Prabhakar.  At the press conference, he claimed that the community is disregarded in the town panchayat, municipality, taluk panchayats, corporation boards, and in the elections. He said, “When K. Chengalaraya Reddy was the state’s chief minister, the community had received several benefits.” He also mentioned that political parties are only using the Reddy community for gaining votes.

Prabhakar said, “Our community has not been given a separate corporation board by the Karnataka government.” He said that the government has been considering the Reddy community as a part of the Vokkalingas.

Prabahakar stated that their community is different from the Vokkaligas, and feels that the Reddy community is being ignored.. He said that this issue had been brought up several times. However, no action had been taken.. He said, “If the political parties are ignoring us then we will also ignore them in the upcoming elections.” Through this press meet, the Reddy community demands senior political parties to consider their demands.

Mahesh Reddy, Director of Reddy Jana Sangha said, “Despite having over 95 lakh members, our community is ignored by all political parties.” He also said that only one seat is awarded to the Reddy group by the in the next Lok Sabha elections by the Congress party..

Mahesh said, “BJP and JD(S) had completely ignored our community.” He also said that their community hadn’t received any funds from the government. “We request the government and all political parties to look after our demands,” he said.

Narashimhappa, a lawyer said that the benefits announced by the government have to be given to both the Vokkaligas and the Reddy community people. He said that funds or government positions when   are not equally given out. He added if there are any subsidies to be announced it has to be divided equally among the communities so that the other community won’t feel ignored.
