Cluster work by booth level workers will give BJP an absolute majority in the upcoming elections, said PM Modi.
Prime Minister Modi said that the party will win only when its workers win the hearts of the people, in a video interaction with booth level party workers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He said they should be aware of the work party has done at the central level and in the state and should tell the people about it.
He stressed the importance of conducting door-to-door campaigns, in order to make people aware of the development done by BJP over the last five years. He insisted they make a team of 20 “hard working people” (10 men and 10 women), in each booth to meet people and tell them about the good work the party has done. “They should further divide themselves into teams of two (one man and one woman) and spend an hour with each family and listen to their problems. You should proudly tell them we are BJP workers,” he said answering a question by a worker.
He asked the workers to encourage people to go and vote. “There is a wave of BJP in the state but the wave will show results when the people will vote in huge numbers,” he added.
He said the party would win the elections with a record number of seats because all the leaders are receiving immense love from the people of Karnataka.
Criticising the Congress party, he said the party’s warranty had expired long ago and therefore, their guarantees didn’t mean anything now. “With Congress, people will only get guaranteed corruption and nepotism,” he said.
“We always learn something new from Prime Minister Modi. He taught us to take lead in our booth and we do that on our levels, our party will win with a huge margin. We follow Hindutva and we will spread this idea in every booth,” said Venkatesh, Secretary, Bangalore North.
He added that building the Ram Mandir was a major achievement of BJP and it defined Hindutva for him.
Kavita, another booth level worker of Malleshwaram constituency, said that the PM’s speech was empowering for women. “A team consisting of both genders shows the importance of women in the elections,” she said.
She added that the party’s standing has always been very orthodox and it would benefit the party in the coming elections.
However, BJP had only fielded eight women candidates from its first list of 189 candidates. In the second list, they only added two women.
Nagesh Gowda, spokesperson of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) said the workers will only make up stories to convince people since the party has not done any concrete work during its tenure.
He said, “The people of Karnataka will reject BJP this time. He neither visited Karnataka during floods, nor during COVID-19, but now, all of a sudden, the PM and the central ministers are showing up in Karnataka.”
Dr. Harish Ramaswamy, a political science professor, said that BJP had its roots in Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and they have used such micro level campaigning. “Going door-to-door, talking to people one-on-one has been the style of RSS and Modi has been an RSS man his entire life,” he added.
He said Congress did not do this earlier but now, they have also started such campaigns. Another benefit was that people who did not use to read newspapers or watched television, they would also know about what the party was planning to do, he added.
