Two snakes were spotted on the newly inaugurated toy trains track.
Surprise and shock surrounded the visitors at Cubbon Park when two snakes were spotted on the tracks of the newly inaugurated toy train, Puttani Express. Parents said they feared the safety of their children.
The two snakes were spotted in the Bal Bhawan area of the park. Dr. Bhabhina N. M and her family including her two children were riding the train when they spotted the snakes. “We were surprised when the train stopped abruptly.” She said her surprise soon turned into shock when she spotted the snakes.
Many people immediately got down the train and fled the spot whereas some stayed back and waited for the train to resume its journey. There were 60 people onboard including 40 children.
An official at the Cubbon Park said that the officials had no plans to protect the tracks as such incidents had not harmed anybody in the past. He added a snake catcher would be called soon if they are not caught anytime soon.
The official said that the snakes slithered away as soon as the train arrived and they haven’t been caught yet.
K Balachandra Raju, the loco pilot of the toy train said he immediately stopped the train and waited for them to go away.
Kaveetha, mother of three children who was unaware about the incident, said parents should be informed about such incidents while entering Bal Bhawan. “We come here with our children and it is not safe for them to play in such a dangerous situation,” she added.
