BSP’s first 50 candidate list out

BSP expects to win 25 seats in upcoming elections.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has released its Category-A list of candidates for the Karnataka State elections at a press release today. The elections may be held in May, 2023. The candidates include M. Krishna Murthy, K. B. Vasu, N. Madhu, G. Aswath Narayan and H. R. Mahesh.The party will release the next 100 names once its  National General Secretary Dr Ashok Siddharth comes to Karnataka after April 5, 2023.

M. Krishna Murthy, State party president said, “We are sure we will win 25 seats this year.” He added that they plan to implement a land distribution scheme in Karnataka similar to the one in Uttar Pradesh, when ten lakh crore acres of land was given to the Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs).

BSP believes in “Social Transformation and Economic Emancipation” of the “Bahujan Samaj”.

The list has only one female candidate. State party president said, “We want to include more women in the party but there is less female participation in politics.” He added that he understands the importance of having the female voice heard on the political platform.

The party aims to allot three acres of land to a woman in every farming family. Furthermore, the party plans to abolish outsourcing in government services and make all employees permanent. Murthy said he would also do something about many villages in Karnataka having no burial ground. 

The BSP is a national level political party in India that was formed to represent Bahujans which is the combined population of SC, ST, and other backward classes and minorities.BSP was founded on the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar by Kanshi Ram who named, Mayawati, as his successor in 2001.
