Hunger Strike to be announced by Zilla Parishad Members

Some 50 members of the Zilla Parishad of Karnataka are going to announce a hunger strike against the state government to meet their demands.

At the Chief Minister of Karnataka HD Kumarswamy’s office, the 50 Zilla Parishad Members of the state said that they are going to announce a hunger strike against the government to grant their demands like bore-well construction, hospitals, and construction of roads. All these projects were delayed.

Krishnayya, the Zilla Panchayat president said that “The government is not giving a budget for our talukas. We gave an application last month, but the CM is not ready to answer our questions.”

The CM was busy attending a meeting with the Sugarcane factory owners that have been doing rounds for a long time.

The meeting was going to decide the fate of the sugarcane farmers and their needs. The decision of the event hasn’t come out yet.

Kealli Naveen, Chamrajnagar Zilla Parishad president, stated that “first they had called us at the metro inauguration venue to address our issues, but nothing really happened there. So now we have come here to talk to the CM.”

A spokesperson of the CM, talked about this issue, “We are here to address the issues of the sugarcane factory members. Kumaraswamy has to leave for Bellary after the meeting.”
