Former Prime Minister, Smt. Indira Gandhi’s Jayanthi was celebrated in the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee’s (KPCC) office in Bangalore.

Bangalore, Nov. 19, 2018.

Congress party state officials KPCC Chief Dinesh Gundu Rao, Deputy CM G Parameshwara, Ex CM Siddaramaiah, and Veerappa Moily attended the event.

Speaking about Indira Gandhi, Dinesh Gundu Rao said, “Indira Gandhi was not the kind of person who became a Prime Minister by fraudulence. People wanted Indira Gandhi to become the Prime Minister, which is why they voted for her in Congress. She is the Iron Lady of our country, who fought against Pakistan, and freed Bangladesh from Pakistan. She was very down-to-earth and treated everyone equally.

There was a situation where candidates won in the elections just because of the name Congress party. Now, the BJP is ruining our country. Recent by-elections results show that the public do not want to be ruled by the BJP government. It’s time to vote for Congress and ensure that the nation is reborn.”

G Parameswara announced that, “The coalition government is going to give Rs. two lakh to farmers and poor people. This will begin in 10 days. The BJP government is unnecessarily provoking farmers for their political benefits. By tomorrow, sugarcane farmers from Belagaum district will reach Bangalore. We will provide all the facilities they need and fulfill all their demands. In the next elections, Modi is not going to win, and it’s the Congress party that is going to form the government.”

While speaking to The Softcopy newspaper, M Nagaraju, KPCC spokesperson said, “Our coalition government is stable and communal clashes have been far away since our government came into power. All the 165 promises made by us were fulfilled and the primary objective was to address poor and the poorest of the state and develop them.”
