This kind of events could be the solution for India’s unemployment issues.

Rameshwara Gowda, Registrar at the Bangalore Central University contends that inter-college events can be a way of providing skills to students. Speaking at an event in the city today, Gowda remarked, “Only 10 percent of graduates are employed.”
Speaking on the reason for these events to be organized, Gowda noted, “Many programmes are not skill-oriented. These events are required to help bridge the gap in the education system.” Noting that the event would serve as an ‘eye opener’s for students, Gowda agreed to provide facilities for the organization of such events, namely the Gaganajyoti auditorium.
Gowda was a dignitary at an Inter-Collegiate Commerce Management and Cultural fest, organized by the Government Ramnarayan Chellaram College of Commerce and Management. Titled Sarang- Tarang 2018-19; the event is being organized by the college club “Srujana Rotary Club”. With more than 120 colleges slated to attend the event, the fest takes place over a span of two days.
Apart from Gowda, the occasion was graced by Kannada Film Industry Sandalwood stars Vicky Varum and Nimika Ratnakar, who both encouraged students to participate in extra-curricular activities. Varum specifically had a message for the students gathered. “Be conscious of the direction in which, you’re headed,” he mentioned, as he mentioned the importance of developing as a person.
Agreeing with Gowda’s assessment, KT Subash Chandra, the professor at the college’s Commerce Department noted that the event would help in the development of necessary skills.
“Events like Ice-Breaker and Best Manager involve providing solutions to problems. This intention is to enhance the skills of both students and the audience.” Chandra added, “Many come here and share knowledge”.
Participants too were looking forward to the events. Yogesh of the Seshadripuram Institute of Commerce and Management (SICM) remarked, “ The creativity that we use in these competitions would help us face challenges in the future.”
Student Yogesh is a participant in the collage-making competition. The day is scheduled to have seven events. Namely, Best Manager, Ice-Breaker, Product Launch, Treasure hunt, Mad- ads, Collage and Business Quiz.
