According to a study by Deloitte, more than 80 percent white collar workers reported being affected by mental health issues such as depression, emotional exhaustion or burnout, irritability or anger, sleep issues, and anxiety. Workplace was found to be the top stressor (49 percent) due to reasons such as deadlines, heavy workloads, poor team cultures, and lack of recognition and job satisfaction, which was worsened by the pandemic.

The Department of Educational Psychology and Foundations of Education, part of the National Council of Educational Research and Training, conducted a survey of 3,79,842 school students in September 2022 to determine their mental well-being.
