The Junior Training candidates have not received recruitment letters 4 months after exam.
Over 400 candidates have not heard about the Junior Training Officer examination even though it has been four months since they wrote it. The 400-markexam is conducted by the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation.
A candidate needs to have a work experience of at least two years and must qualify the examination iin order to be recruited for the post of Junior Training Officer.
The candidates today held a protest and raised their issues in public.
Venkatesh D, an eligible candidate who had cleared the exam but was not issued an order of recruitment, said: “The order for this was passed in 2018. Five years have passed but nothing has been done by the authorities to improve our present situation.” The department of skill development should be held accountable. “We have given up our jobs and are currently unemployed. It’s been a year since we submitted our documents for verification and we didnot get them back,” said Venkatesh.
Arsha, another candidate, said they are fighting for the last four to five months and still have not heard from the authorities. “The candidates who are not eligible got their recruitment orders while the experienced and eligible ones are sitting indoors.”
Annappa, who had applied for recruitment, said that out of 2,520 junior training officerapplicants, only 500 were given appointment orders;almost 400 orders are pending. “Without any prior notification or legal orders, they have stopped issuing appointment orders and betrayed the deserving candidates.”
Mr Chowdhury, a professor of economics from St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi, said the authorities need to be sure of their recruiting procedures.
Manjunath Swamy, an officer at Kaushalya Bhavan, said the Skill DevelopmentCommissioner has twice spoken to the protesters. The secretary is in consultation with the legal team.Once the secretary gives his approval, they will be able to issue appointment orders.
