Tech parks in the city are getting ready to bring  staff back to offices with several safety measures. They are sanitizing offices, cleaning filtration systems in air conditioning and creating socially-distanced office desks said people manning tech park help lines.

On similar lines, companies are slowly bringing back employees to workspaces by encouraging vaccination and opting hybrid work model for safe working environment, said Wipro senior software engineer Gurram Srinivas Rao. Tech parks in  Bengaluru like International Tech Park Bangalore (ITPB), Bagmane Tech Park and Embassy Manyata Business Park have been empty from the start of pandemic because the companies opted for work from home. Ravi Raushan, spokesperson of Bagmane Tech Park said that they are now bringing back all the employees who have been put on pause and are not being paid.

“From what I observed, most people want the office scenario back. In work from home, mostly people are online from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Office time got stretched. People can spend some personal time while they travel from home to office which was taken away during work from home. A social relationship at office that has been cut in work from home. People who are not in big houses there is problem of a private space to work.” said Prof. Dr. R Rajesh of Sociology from  Bangalore University.

Rao said that, he preferred working in office space as the working hours are more convenient and working space is also not distracting as there are people around doing their work and he  preferred working  offline than on zoom calls.
