Ahead of the assembly elections in the state, JD (U) brings in Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

Bangalore, April 11, 2018: Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) national president Nitish Kumar was all praise for Karnataka’s leaders, especially people like former Chief Minister J H Patel. Patel, he recalled, was one of the first people to speak in Kannada in the parliament.
Kumar addressed party workers in Bengaluru as Karnataka goes to polls on May 12.

He said that JD(U) was born in Bangalore. “We have a long history,” he said.
He also spoke about Bihar as an example of socialism thriving. “I have a lot of respect for people with socialist values. I was deeply motivated by Ram Manohar Lohia and his ideas. That is why I respect JH Patel immensely,” he said.

Tejaswi Patel, nephew of former Karnataka Chief Minister J H Patel, returned the compliment and said that Nitish Kumar’s clean image, foresight and track record of development keeps Karnataka party workers dedicated. He also said, “JD (U) will grown in Karnataka not by cash or community, but by commitment alone.”

Other JD (U) leaders present at the event were Karnataka State President, Mahima Patel, Member of Parliament and National General Secretary) RCP Singh, and national spokesperson Ajay Alok.
Mahima Patel welcomed three new members into the party fold.
“This is not Mahima Patel’s party or Nitish Kumar’s party. This is your party. The public’s party. You are the owner of the JD (U),” Patel.
