Mangalore Muslim Youth Council (MMYC) demands that the Tumkur murders be handed over to higher level investigative agencies like the CID.
Bangalore: Abu Bakar, president of the Mangalore Muslim Youth Council (MMYC) demanded at a press conference that the murder of three people in Tumkur on March 22 should be investigated by higher investigating agencies.
Other council members present at the conference termed the murders “inhumane” and said the government should take the incident seriously and also give compensation to their family members. “If the government will not fulfill our demand then we will be forced to protest for the same,” they said.
Three persons were found burnt in a car in Tumakuru district on March 22. They hailed from the Belthangadi Taluk of Mangaluru, and were probably duped on the pretext of ‘treasure’, police said on Saturday, 23 March, according to news reports. The burnt car was found near a Lake in Kuchangi village, Tumakuru.
“This is a conspiracy. The culprits duped the victims by luring them with free money,” a council member said.The MMYC council members also mentioned that for the past 10 years such incidents were being heard of in many parts of Tumkur. The government and police should pay better attention towards this incident, they demanded.
According to the press release, the dead bodies identified were of Shahul Hameed also a mosque council member, 45, Isak, 54 and Siddique, 34. The main accused were Patharaju, a priest from Sira Gate, Tumakuru and Gangaraju, also from Tumakuru. They were interrogated by the police and arrested.
The Counil members demanded that higher investigation agencies probe into the matter, as many fraud cases are being heard of since the past ten years.
As per media reports, further investigation is going on in the issue . The Superintendent of Police has said that they have found some clues and will soon arrest all culprits involved in this incident.
“Justice is needed for innocent people,” President Bakar said.
