November has been an exciting month at the Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media (IIJNM) filled with enriching learning aimed at deepening our commitment to media literacy.
Script Writing- Developing Critical Perspectives
Throughout November, our students delved into the art of scriptwriting, a vital skill in the world of journalism and media communication. They prepared scripts for explainer videos, covering various mediums. These scripts aimed to emphasize the significance of different media platforms while shedding light on challenges and credibility of various mediums. The process encouraged students to critically think and develop the ability to convey their ideas in a concise and engaging manner.
Video Production: Bringing life to ideas
Following the scriptwriting task, our students brought their ideas to life by creating informative explainer videos. The production process was a testament to the skills that students learnt in production sessions. Throughout these sessions, they learnt how to integrate various elements of video production into their videos to bring in a professional touch while retaining simplicity.
Explainer Videos: Spreading the message through explainer videos
The culmination of the students’ efforts resulted in a series of compelling explainer videos. These videos not only showcased the creativity of our students but also served a larger purpose. By focusing on creating awareness among student communities regarding media literacy, the videos aim to educate the public on the importance of mindful information-sharing and consumption habits.
