The entire Congress leadership from top to bottom is only interested in slandering the BJP and not in having political discourse, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said.
The Congress party is bereft of any ideas and now is resorting to slandering and badmouthing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
“Despite having seen what Mani Shankar Aiyer’s chaiwala jibe did to their party, their rhetoric still continues. I think this party has no ideology and has nothing to give to the people. In this election, the people of Karnataka will demonstrate to them what they think of this kind of politics of abuse,” he said during a press conference.
Chandrasekhar, here in the city to campaign for BJP said that the double engine government is “not just a slogan but a real economic multiplier effect of the central government working with state government to improve growth and economic activity.”
However, Aishwarya Mahadev, National Media Panelist, All India Congress Committee (AICC) and General Secretary for Media Communications for Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) said earlier, “The Congress knows how to function with a different party in the center as we have done it before. The double engine government has been an absolute failure in Karnataka and it is a sham.” She added that the centre has never given Karnataka its dues; be it flood relief or GST compensation.
Chandrasekhar further went on to hit out at the Congress saying that as the election date comes closer, the “desperation” of the Congress will increase over the next 10 days. They will make more bizarre promises and accusations, he said. “This is what the Congress will do in the next 12 days as they know in this election they are going to get a decisive result which will prompt them to leave Karnataka and go to some other state.” The people of Karnataka will give the BJP a decisive majority this election, he added.
In response, Anand Prasad, Social Media Head, KPCC, said, “There have been numerous instances where the BJP has been proven corrupt, like the 40 percent commission issue. There is no need to give much importance to these comments.”
