Despite not being in BESCOM’s list of areas that were to brace for power cuts today, areas like Koramangala, Frazer Town, KR Puram and Wilson Garden faced power snags, this morning.
Bangalore, 27 February 2018: Areas like Koramangala, Frazer Town, KR Puram and Wilson Garden woke up to a disruption in their power supply for a few hours this morning despite not being named in the list of areas that were to face a power cut today by the Bangalore Electronic Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) This is better. Use this instead of the earlier one. Else, it will be repetitive.
Due to the construction of the HOODI-HSR and Hoodi-EPIP Metro lines, several areas in Bengaluru were notified with electricity supply disruption from 24 February to 28 February from 10 am till 5 pm by the state government.
Nikhil David Prakash, a resident of 8th cross Wilson Garden, said, “There is no power supply since 9 am in the morning. We tried calling Karnataka Electricity Board (KEB) but they are not responding.”
Officials from BESCOM said, “The power was cut for a few hours in unnotified areas to prevent electrical overload and consequential disruption.”
Baswaraju M, a resident of KR Puram, said, “We did not get electricity supply for three hours straight even though KR Puram was not there in the list of areas that had to face power cuts today.”
