BJP MP blamed for lapse in Parliament security, KPCC demands explanation and Supreme Court probe.
A lapse in central intelligence has raised concerns about the country’s safety; BJP MP Pratap Simha is responsible for this incident, said Urgappa, Vice President, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) .
Urgappa said, “This is an assault on Indian democracy and people’s safety- it is a serious matter. The absence of metal detectors also raises questions.” He added, “The Lok Sabha speaker holds full control, and we demand a thorough explanation.”
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee talked about these issues while addressing a press conference on Thursday, specifically highlighting the security breach in the Lok Sabha that took place on Wednesday.
The Congress party member, said, “Yesterday marked the darkest day in our country’s history. If the Parliament isn’t secure, how can we ensure the safety of the common people?”
The Congress party member added, “Elections are near, and I’m uncertain about the political tactics being played.”
This matter requires a thorough investigation under the Supreme Court Chief Justice, he said.
There was a major security breach in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament terror attack. The 2001 attack was carried out by two banned Pakistan-based groups, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, leading to the death of nine people, including eight security staff.
