Vijay Mallya has been in the UK since 2017, following the charges against him for money laundering.
The Supreme Court (SC) is set to hear the contempt of court case against the Indian fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya on January 18, 2022.
A bench headed by Justice U.U. Lalit had set the hearing at 2 pm in the court. The court said that even if Vijay Mallya is not present in the proceedings, his counsel has been coming to represent him. Keeping that in mind, the court said that they will not delay the proceedings for the non-payment of Rs. 9,000 crore to the banks in 2017.
