AAP threatens to stage a protest if culprits are not brought to justice.

A controversy has erupted in Karnataka state following allegations of a lynching incident that took place in Ramanagara. MG Mahesh spokesperson of the ruling party has called the entire incident a “politically motivated act” by other parties to create unrest in the state.  He said that the police was currently investigating the case and he believed that the deceased died a natural death and there was no foul play involved. 

The incident has become politically charged, with the BJP and other political parties clashing over the allegations.

Meanwhile, Umesh Babu, the representative of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Byatarayanapura Assembly said that his party would organise protests against authorities if the culprit was not arrested.  He also said that BJP was fostering numerous anti-social elements and attempting to create disturbances within the society.

 Idrees Pasha, a goods vehicle driver was found dead last week after being attacked by cow vigilantes, said police. The deceased was lying on his stomach with a stone in his hand, according to a Deccan Herald report.

Mahesh  said that the person involved was not affiliated to BJP in any manner and the entire episode was  a political stunt by the opposition to raise an issue during the upcoming Assembly Elections.

AAP representative on the contrary said that the BJP was engaging in a systematic strategy of blaming other political parties. “BJP is following a divide and rule ideology, which involves creating divisions within society to gain power and control,” he added.

H e said his party was seeking justice for the victim’s family.

As per the latest information, three FIRs (First Information Reports) have been filed against Puneeth Kerehalli, a Hindutva activist, and four of his associates who are believed to be involved in the incident.

Subash, the police inspector from the Ramanagara police station said the investigation into the incident was still ongoing and authorities were making efforts to locate Kerehalli and other individuals involved in the incident. “The culprits will be found and brought to justice,” he added.

Harish Desai, a political expert said that since the BJP ruled in the state they would play down such incidents and it was the police’s responsibility to thoroughly investigate such cases.
