By Mansi Bhasin

Bangalore,Sept 27: Seven out of the 10 BBMP control rooms are lagging behind in digitalization of their complaint registering system. BBMP has only managed to digitalize 3 control offices.

Dr. Shivasharanappa S Khandre , Public Relations Officer, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)said, “At present only RR Nagar , IBP station and the BBMP head office, Hudson Circle control rooms are computerized and they maintain digital records and statistics. The other seven stations still record complaints manually.”

Mr. Shridhar Pabbisetty, CEO, Namma Bengaluru Foundation said, “Bangalore’s leverage is the technology, the single most advantage that it gives to the rest of the world. Many companies which operate in Bangalore are improving and automating their technologies across the world, but, BBMP is still stuck with century old methods. It needs to modernize its systems to cope with Bangalore’s fast growing technology pace.”

While major government department in Bangalore like TMC (Traffic Management Center), BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport corporation), BMRCL (Bangalore Metro Rail corporation Limited) are fully computerised and do not object to giving information on complaints. BBMP control offices are still lacking technology and do not give access to complaints.
