Bengaluru City gets Another Government Media Centre

Inauguration of the Mahatma Gandhi Centre took place at Department of Information and Public Relations by CM, HD Kumaraswamy. 

The Department of Information and Public Relations got an auditorium today. The Chief Minister, HD Kumaraswamy was the Chief Guest and the inauguration was done from his hands. The auditorium is named ‘Mahatma Gandhi Media Centre’. On this occasion, Chief Minister promised of recruiting more staff to the department as it has insufficient employees.

It is the first time they have established a media centre there. Kumaraswamy said about the utmost importance of press and media in today’s time. He promised to hold meetings with the committee and will increase the number of employees. ‘’This is similar to a national media centre where important meets are being arranged, and now meetings will be arranged here too’’, Kumaraswamy said.

N Vishukumar, Director of Information and Public Relations said, ‘’ CM has promised to increase the staff and will recruit more employees. Now, this auditorium will also host meetings and press brief’’. DP Murlidhar, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations said, ‘’ now we are more dependent on technology than manpower. Earlier we were 545 employees but now it came to 246 only’’.
